Quiltmakers 100 Blocks Blog Tour Starts Today!
It just happens to start today and be my day to blog. My block is called Black Pearl.
My friend Sue asked me if I named it after the Black Pearl from Pirates of the Caribbean. Although I like the movie, I did not name my block after the Black Pearl on the movie. I actually thought of Black Pearls when I looked at my block. What do you think? Movie or jewelry? Here is my question for you to be entered in the drawing for a Quiltmakers 100 Block Volume 3 magazine. What do you prefer - to spend your money on movies or jewelry? I know it's a tough one! Also, for the lucky winner who gets chosen for my blog, not only will you get a copy of the magazine, I will send you my new ruler, Fit to be Quarter. Yes, it's close to being finished and I will have it on my website later this week!!
Make sure that you stop by Quiltmakers blog to enter your name in for the prizes that they are giving away. I also decided to give you a free pattern, Black Pearl Table Topper. It is a quick, fun project to make and can be done in any colors. My original block is done using my first fabric line Olde World Style.
In the magazine, the editors decided to do a Quilt Gallery. I submitted a quilt and they decided to put it in! I was so excited. It is called the same name as the block, Black Pearl. We will have kits available on BundlesandBolts.com within the next few weeks.
Hope you enjoy the blog hop and let me know if you make the table topper. Enjoy!

Hmmmmm, tough call, I think I"m going to have to say I prefer to spend my money on jewelry, I love movies, and to escape into a really good movie is wonderful, but so are those little charms I collect for my charm bracelet!
Jewelry. Hands DOWN. Much more than movies.

I would spend money on jewelry!
I am not much of a jewelry wearer, although I love pretty things. Movies get watched a lot here, as we don't have cable/tv. So movies is where the money is spent...unless it's fabric ;) Thanks for a chance at winning.
Movies or jewelry. I'd have to go with the jewelry. I am a bracelet fanatic and can't seem to get enough of them. Of course, my husband helps in that endeavor!!!
I think I would spend my money on jewelery, mostly earrings.

I definitely choose jewelry over movies, love them both but I can't resist earrings! Thanks for the giveaway.
Cheers!
I'm really not much of a movie kind of gal, so I guess jewelry would win this contest.

Congrats on being in the book, and thanks for the giveaway!
Love the block!
Thanks for the pattern and giveaway.
Great block, Monique. If I had to make a choice between spending money on jewellery or movies, it would definitely be jewellery. Good think you didn't throw quilty items in as a choice, or I would've had a really touch time deciding :)
Thanks for the pattern and giveaway.
Deb
Definitely jewelry over movies. Now if you asked jewelry or fabric......
Hmm, jewelry or movies, I'd have to say jewelry & I'm not a jewelry type gal. Now if your choices were anything to do with quilting vs. jewelry I'd always chose very expensive machines....and I have. LOL
No question about spending money on jewelry. While I love movies, jewelry is a better bargain. Thanks.
I prefer jewelry to going to the movies. With jewelry you know what to expect. With a movie you run the risk of being disappointed!
Can't wait for "100 Blocks - Volume 3" to hit the stands!
Congratulations on being in the 100 Blocks' next issue and the full sized quilt for the gallery as well. Awesome job. Thank you for the pattern too.
Pick me!

I would rather buy jewelry than movies, thanks. Black pearls, I think...

Congrats on being included in the book!
I love this block. I love it as a whole quilt too. I would be so happy if I won a copy of the magazine. Thank you and Congrats!
I would like to think I could buy movies and my husband would buy the jewelry, except he hasn't caught onto that concept! So I guess I'll go with jewelry.
If I have to choose, jewelry wins hands down!
Thanks for the giveaway!
I can't wait to make this block.

Congrats on having your block chosen for the new '100 blocks' magazine! Well deserved, I hope to get this magazine soon. Thanks so much for your gift pattern as well.
Sandy
Really like your block, and especially like how your "big" quilt with all blocks at the end of your post! Thanks for the giveaway.
Congratulations!
Jewellery for me!
Jewelry or Movies - if I had to pick it would be Jewelry. But there are so many other things I would enjoy spending my money on - like your patterns, books, and rulers!
It would be fun to win your give away - thanks for the chance.
Terrific block!
We don't have a lot of money to spend right now, so I'll have to say neither movies or jewelry. If I have a bit to spend, it's FABRIC! LOL!
