Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks

Welcome everyone!

It's my day for the blog tour.  I hope you have been tuning in daily to the other blog hop participants.  I have checked them out and am very impressed with all the wonderful, talented designers out there!

Here is my block that was included in the latest issue.  Applique, you say?!  Yes, I have been designing a bit of applique these days.  I love to applique but unfortunately, there is not enough time to do it all.  I was inpired by a tile design for this applique and hope you enjoy it too!

As for my giveaway for the blog tour, I have a few items to give to 3 lucky winners!  Read below to see how to enter for the drawings.

First, from Quiltmaker, a copy of the Quiltmaker's 100 Block Vol. 4.  It is an awesome magazine that has some great blocks and lots of inspiration!

Second, Fit to be Geese ruler.  If you haven't used my Fit to be Geese ruler, here's your chance to win one!  It is perfect for trimming flying geese from 2" x 3 1/2" to 3 1/2" x 6 1/2".  Also included with the ruler is a free pattern.

Third, fabric.  How about a sampling of my newest fabric line, Memories of Provence?  Combining rich reds, beautiful blacks, fabulous blues and soft creams, this is the latest fabric line that I designed with Maywood Studio.  Here are a few of the pieces.

Now, how do you enter, you ask?  Simple, leave a comment on this blog answering this question:  Dog lover, cat lover, neither or both?  If you do have a pet, let me know his/her name, breed (if applicable), and age.  I would love to hear all about your favorite 4 legged friend.  If you don't have a pet, let me know what keeps you company when you sew.  Music, dvd's, silence...?

Make your comment before Sunday night and I will draw for the winners and announce them Monday morning.

This is my quilting buddy, Tillie, our Old English Sheepdog.

Thanks for participating and good luck!

Love your block!
Our family pet is a tabby cat named "Tabby", and she's a true quilters cat-loves a quilt and loves to be near me when I'm in the sewing room.

Congrats on being included in the 100, Monique! I love symmetrical applique blocks. Yours is perfect! No pets here, sorry. We use our time and resources for people maintenance and for QUILTING! I have the TV on when I quilt.

A kitty named Twilight and we're looking to add a horse to our loving family. Our Pap, she is 7yo, my daughter has taught her how to play dead in her hands. It is way too cute to watch.

I am definitely a dog lover. We have a Bichon named Smeggel who is 10 years old. He was rescued from a puppy mill where he had lived for 8 years in a crate. He could only crawl when he was rescued. He is spoiled rotten now though! I just have to win this fabric, because I am redecorating part of my house with Provence fabrics. I love them.

I'm a dog and cat lover, and all things furry:) Although furry spiders and me are not close! I have a 4 yr old whippet/black lab rescue dog named Dunlop. He's not a certified hearing dog, but he helps me by signalling if the oven buzzer goes off or if the door bell rings. Too bad he's not trained to take that pie out of the oven, or sign for the Fedex package at the door :) Also he likes to hit the hay around 7pm, but he will prop his head up on my feet, if I'm up late sewing. Such a good pooch!

I have two dogs, black labs, a cat who is a mix. I have strange animals. The cat will come over cry and rub on my legs wanting attention. If I do not give it to him he then goes to the dogs and starts rubbing allover them wanting one of them to play or do something for him. The dogs just lay not moving much and just look at the cat with a look of here we go again in their eyes. It is kink av funny to watch.

It's fun to read blogs and meet new future friends and like-minded quilters/designers.

My husband's cat, Hairy GG (stands for Gray Girl) or as our vet calls her, Hairy 66....is ALWAYS helping. She waits until I'm ready to sew, then plops her little fuzzy self right in the middle of it....

I call her a "Little Flour Sack," because she is deceptively dense. Although she resembles this cute little kitten (at 6 years of age), don't try to pick her up without back support!!!
